Lady Eleanora

Eleanora Barnwall of Drimnagh Castle was made to marry her cousin Edmund instead of her true love, Seán O'Byrne. She is still seen in the castle, searching for him.

Drimnagh Castle, around 1900. The Barnwall tower house still stands, a few minutes' walk up the road. She escaped it to find Seán's grave in the Dublin Mountains; the pub on Drimnagh Road carries her name.

Thirty years on the head of a pint

We marked 1990 to 2020 on the stout itself. A friendly local first and foremost: great craic and better company, good bar staff and an excellent chef, from the first coffee of the day to the last song. Between drinks, look out for the bits of local history hung around the bar.
