Lady Eleanora

Eleanora Barnwall

The lady of Drimnagh Castle

Made to marry her cousin Edmund instead of her true love, Seán O'Byrne, she escaped the castle to find Seán's grave in the Dublin Mountains. She is still seen in the castle, searching for him.

The Barnwall tower house still stands, a few minutes' walk from the bar. The pub on Drimnagh Road carries her name.

We marked our thirtieth year on the head of a pint. Between drinks, look out for the quirky facts and bits of local history hung around the bar.

Bar, lounge and function room

A friendly local first and foremost. Great craic and better company, good bar staff and an excellent chef, from the first coffee of the day to the last song.

Music, sport and functions

Live bands, trad and a late DJ

Music is a huge part of Ireland's history, and it has a home here: live cover bands, traditional Irish music and a late-night DJ, with music quizzes, karaoke and bingo between.
